Five video ads, one masterclass

Five angles for RNs and NPs, each with three hooks to test and a body Ellaine can read straight to camera. Every one sends nurses to the same free live masterclass.

5,460 more shifts

The number

For: RNs in their late 20s and 30s who quietly assume they'll work bedside until 60

Hooks (test all three)
  • Hook Ashock

If you're a 25-year-old nurse working three 12s a week, you've got about five thousand four hundred shifts left before 60, and you don't have to work most of them.

  • Hook Bcontrarian

Nurses, stop asking how many more shifts you have to work, and start asking what your number is, because once you hit it, every shift becomes a choice.

  • Hook Cpain

My mom hurt her back at the bedside and had to wait until retirement age for income, and I promised myself my body would never be my only retirement plan.

Body (about 60 sec)
On screenEllaine to camera in clinic, black scrubs, stethoscope. Lower third: Ellaine Maala, MSN, FNP · Certified Financial Education Instructor.

Hi, I'm Ellaine. I've been a nurse for over fifteen years, and for most of them, I assumed I'd be doing this until I was sixty, like everyone in my family did.

Here's what nobody told me. You don't have to save for thirty more years. You need to reach one number. It's called your Coast FI number, the amount that grows into a full retirement on its own, without you adding another dollar.

B-rollEllaine laughing on camera, then a simple on-screen calculation: $60,000 × 25 = $1.5M, then ÷ 5.43 = $276,400.

For example, if you're thirty-five and spend sixty thousand a year, at a seven percent average that number is about two hundred seventy-six thousand, not one and a half million. I hit mine in my thirties, on a nurse's salary, after cashing out my own 401(k) once for bags and a car. Yikes.

Once you're there, you stop saving for retirement, and every shift after that becomes a choice. I'm teaching exactly how to find yours in a free live masterclass.

And no, you don't need a finance degree. If you can calculate a drip rate, you can do this math.

Good money, still broke

Pain mirror

For: RNs and NPs earning $80k to $250k who still live paycheck to paycheck

Hooks (test all three)
  • Hook Apain

I was a nurse making good money and still living paycheck to paycheck, and it wasn't because I was bad with money, it's because nobody ever taught us.

  • Hook Bconfession

I once cashed out my 401(k) to buy luxury bags and a car, and I'm a nurse who's since taught over ten thousand nurses about money.

  • Hook Ccallout

If you make six figures as a nurse and still don't know where your paycheck goes every month, you're not alone, and I can show you why.

Body (about 60 sec)
On screenEllaine filming in her car after a shift, natural light, casual.

For years, I was making good money as a nurse. And every two weeks, the paycheck would land, and it would just be gone. Rent, the car, the loans, the kids, one fun thing.

Twenty thousand in student loans, ten thousand on credit cards, and nothing invested except the 403(b) HR set up at orientation.

B-rollEllaine at her kitchen table in scrubs. Text on screen: the paycheck order, six steps appearing one at a time.

What changed wasn't my salary. It was the order. Once I knew where every dollar should go first, the match, the HSA, the Roth, then the rest, I had my first hundred thousand invested in under three years.

It was never that nurses are bad with money. Nobody taught us. So I'm teaching it, live and free, including the paycheck order I wish someone had shown me on day one.

If you're thinking you don't have time to manage money on top of twelve-hour shifts, good news. You set it up once, and it runs on payday.

The 457(b) nobody mentions

Hidden money

For: hospital-employed nurses who only use the 403(b) at work

Hooks (test all three)
  • Hook Acuriosity

A lot of hospital nurses have a second retirement account they've never opened, and nobody mentions it at orientation.

  • Hook Bdirect

Nurses, log into your benefits portal tonight and look for three letters and a number: four, five, seven, b.

  • Hook Closs

If your hospital matches up to four percent and you're only putting in two, you're turning down a raise every single paycheck.

Body (about 55 sec)
On screenEllaine at her desk in scrubs, laptop open on a benefits portal mockup.

Okay, this one's quick, but it could be worth thousands of dollars to you.

Most of us put a little into the 403(b) and call it a day. But a lot of hospitals also offer a 457(b) right next to it. It's a second bucket you can fill, and depending on your plan, it can be more flexible about when you take the money out.

B-rollClose-up of a benefits page: 403(b) enrolled, 457(b) not enrolled, HSA not enrolled. The two empty rows highlight.

Then there's the match. An RN on ninety-five thousand with a four percent match gets thirty-eight hundred dollars a year added for free. Just for putting in four percent.

More shifts aren't the answer. More money in the right order is. I'm walking through the exact order, account by account, in a free live masterclass for nurses.

And I'm a nurse practitioner, not a salesperson. I'm not selling you a product inside your account. I'm teaching you what's already there.

Two 12s, not three

Future pace

For: experienced RNs who are tired and want fewer shifts without losing security

Hooks (test all three)
  • Hook Adream

Imagine opening the schedule and picking two shifts this week instead of three, same job, same unit, and your retirement still on track.

  • Hook Bscenario

You get the text, we're short tonight, can you come in, and you get to say no without doing the math in your head first.

  • Hook Cproof

I walked away from an almost two hundred thousand dollar NP job last year, and I could only do it because I knew my number.

Body (about 65 sec)
On screenEllaine sitting by a sunny window in navy scrubs, relaxed.

Here's what I wish every nurse knew. The day you hit your Coast FI number, the money you were putting toward retirement is free.

Say you were investing twenty-four thousand a year. Once you're Coast FI, you can stop. And for a lot of RNs, one shift a week brings home roughly that same amount.

B-rollTwo calendar weeks side by side: three 12s, then two 12s with Wednesday marked yours.

So she drops a shift. Same unit, same people, one more day every week for her kids, her body, her life. Some nurses go per diem. Some go part time. I left a bigger NP job for a hybrid one with no weekends.

That's what work-optional actually looks like. In a free live masterclass, I'll show you how to find your number, put your paycheck on autopilot, and plan the shift you drop first.

And if you're worried your manager will say no, stay to the end. I'm giving everyone the exact scripts to ask for it.

You're not too late at 40

Late starter

For: nurses in their late 30s and 40s who feel they started too late

Hooks (test all three)
  • Hook Areassure

If you're a nurse in your forties and you think you started investing too late, I need you to hear this, you might actually be in a better spot.

  • Hook Bcontrarian

Starting to invest at forty isn't a disaster for a nurse, and here's the nurse math on why.

  • Hook Cquestion

How much should a nurse have invested at forty, and what do you do if you're nowhere close?

Body (about 60 sec)
On screenEllaine to camera at home, warm and calm.

A lot of nurses message me feeling panicky. I'm forty, I've got almost nothing outside my work plan, did I miss it?

No. You probably earn more now than you ever have. Your kids are older. You've made your mistakes already. That's a strong position, if the money goes in the right order.

B-rollOn-screen: Coast FI number at 40 with $60,000 yearly spending, about $387,600, then the paycheck order.

At forty, if you spend sixty thousand a year, your Coast FI number is about three hundred eighty-eight thousand, invested by then, at a seven percent average. That's a real target, not a fantasy.

You don't need to catch up on twenty years. You need to aim at one number. I'll show you how to find yours, and the fastest order to close the gap, in a free live masterclass for nurses.

I started late too. I didn't really start until I had my kids, and I'd already cashed out a 401(k). It's not too late.
